My Tips On Creative Use Of Typography

I have broken every typography rule there is to break. That's because boring typography is boring design. Here are few examples from my work on how to use typography in creative ways:

1. Typography as hero: We are stimulated by images online 24x7. This advice seems basic but it's important to break the cycle and use typography to not only stand out but to stop the audience in their tracks to read your message. Just make it a bit more interesting.

2. Typography as decoration: I would highly condemn you from following this advice but here we are. What I really mean by "Typography as decoration" is I use it to fill empty space. Instead of using patterns, I use type as a way to add a decorative element just like how you would add icons. Use copy from the campaign that you're working on or from the brand.

3. Typography as a container: Forget boxes, rectangles and circles. Use type as a container and find creative ways to showcase your images.

4. Typography as personalites: Every typeface has it's own personality. Use it to your advantage. One creative use is to mix different personalities to highlight your key words. Add personality to make the type stand out a little more.

There you have it. Few examples of how I personally use typography in interesting and creative ways. Comment in the post below on how you use typography. See you next time!
